I've become much more willing to suggest 4-6 hours per side right off the
bat if there's an oversupply problem, after seeing some babies for whom
under 6 hours was simply not enough, and others for whom switching every 3
hours turns out to be the same concept as the one breast per feed (with
typical American feeding intervals) that they were already doing. Jack
Newman's book describes a woman whose baby was vastly improved with,
essentially, 24 hours per breast.
