I suppose scabs to be dried liquid of some kind. I'd advise the mom to have
the nipple discharge that causes the scabs studied to determine it's origine.
I'd try to get an as fresh as possible sample, not completely dried and old,
when bacteria can interfere with lab outcomes.
Dependent on the outcome of the lab tests doagnosis and further action can be
determined.
