>I have a mom using the SNS with a 2 mo old baby - mom has lack of glandular

Jaye, she could try putting the tubing on the lower side of the
breast, so it lies along baby's tongue. Have her use a C-hold on the
breast with the tubing under her fingers.
This position for the tubing is less obvious to the baby, but is the
best one for getting good suction on the tubing. This was discovered
during the research done in Peter Hartmann's lab when they were doing
preliminary work for the breast pump development. In this case they
had an older baby who also was distracted by the tubing, and when
they moved it under the breast, the baby no longer noticed it and
they found the suction was much greater. (It had air in it, not milk,
and was connected to a machine measuring the vacuum.)
