I've just received my May JHL today and have been ready the Case Report
while cooking dinner.
It seems that the woman in the case study took fluconazole capsules for 15
weeks! I don't know the cost in the US - but this would have to cost about
US$2000 to 3000!
Perhaps judicial use of Gentian Violet earlier on might have been
cost-effective??
I often find oral nystatin capsules are effective - despite the fact that
they are apparently not well absorbed.
Also, it is such a pity that Daktarin oral gel (miconazole) is not available
in the US - as it is so much better for oral thrush in infants than nystatin
oral drops.
