Hi, Tammy from Colorado here again.
Anybody have any good preemie BFing policies they'd like to share? I looked in the archives under "preemie feeding", but didn't find much. Just was informed that I've been tapped to write a new hospital policy for BFing preemies. We don't do kids much below 32 weeks, as we only have a Level II nursery.
Many of our NICU nurses are convinced that BFing is "too tiring", "too hard for the baby" and "the baby really won't get much nutrition", even AFTER I copied some info from Paula Meier from the archives!
I also plan to beg on some hospital doorsteps in Denver for their policies.
Thanks, everybody.
Tammy in (somewhat smoky) Colorado
