Eight years ago, when my brother's twins were born 6 weeks early, they were
in the NICU of a local teaching hospital. While my SIL was struggling to bf
(limiting time at breast, then give a bottle, increasing time between feeds,
etc were the helpful practices), they were approached to enter into a study
on preemie formulas. Apparently, the hospital had just received a grant for
this purpose. My brother declined, but in this "highly supportive"
environment, my SIL weaned the babies w/in a couple of weeks.
