My employer (Solano County) requires that every 3 years all staff attend
"Sexual Harassment Training" (no, you don't learn how to sexually harass
people <grin>) These trainings are offered every month and you need proof
you have taken them in order to get raises, complete evaluations, etc.  The
employees present were a large mix of staff - not only Health Department
but courts, sheriffs office, etc.

Well, I'm looking over the materials while I'm sitting there - and lo and
behold - the law in California related to the right of all women to
breastfeed wherever she is legally allowed was there - as was the law on
"Lactation Accommodation" (for employers to allow women place and time to
pump)!

Not only was the material there, but there was a good half-hour discussion
on what is not allowed (you cannot ask a woman to not breastfeed at your
desk while she completes her application for welfare or for food stamps or
for anything else), what is allowed (a woman does not have to breastfeed
discretely) and what employees cannot do (can't ask her to breastfeed
somewhere else).  There was also discussion about the fact that
breastfeeding DOES NOT belong in the bathroom.

This trainer offers Sexual Harassment trainings all over the US - also
teaches Diversity training.  She's great -

Just think  - I didn't have to defend my position for a change!
