I don't know much about osteoperosis and bf,
but I think I remember hearing about research
that indicated that bf moms have less calcium/
bone mass when they are nursing but make it
up with even better levels after they wean.
If there are milk allergies/sensitivities in
the family, wouldn't it make sense to try to
find other sources of calcium? (I know dairy
products are the best source, but...)
Perhaps this mother should consult with
a nutritionist who has expertise in this
area.
