Tongue tie is something that I am HUGELY unfamiliar with. Basically, when
moms come to me for help, it's nearly always to deal with an issue like
position, nipple confusion, or some other issue which is easily
corrected... stuff that pretty much anyone who has read a book on
breastfeeding could handle. I'm not an IBCLC, I'm a breastfeeding advocate
who just happens to have a pretty good reputation for figuring things out
when something is not right.
The night before the mom came in, I was reading all about tongue tie and
was wondering if I'd recognise it when I saw it, which is part of the
reason why I'm second-guessing myself on this mama. The fact that I took a
photo of the baby a few moments after birth and have been able to stare at
the photo with her little tongue has been reassuring because I do see the
little dip in the photo.
The question is, does anyone else see it?
Thanks for your feedback on this. I'm feeling quite concerned on this
because it is so far beyond what I can help.
