In NY, breastfeeding in public is a mother's civil right. Some
neighborhoods are more welcoming than others. If Mom is shy she can use
fitting rooms in department stores or malls, but there are rarely
breastfeeding lounges. Many public attractions have little nooks that
are just perfect for sitting down to feed, and I often see other moms
using the same areas I did when my kids were little. No one ever
bothered me for breastfeeding my kids in public here, (now 12 and 15
years old).
