I have had a couple of "mild" ones clipped, and it has improved the
situation. What I am finding is that function and performance are more
important than mere appearance. Even a mild tongue-tie can fatigue an
infant. They may be able to reach out with their tongue, but doing so
repeatedly becomes wearing to them. It's like they have a rubber band
pulling back on their tongue every time they extend. These babies tend
to have short feeds very frequently to compensate. Why should baby have
to suffer? I think it is easier on mom and baby to have the tie clipped,
so long as it is clippable.
