I saw a segment of the MTV show while Brandy was shopping for baby things
with her mother and then was at home with her mother and a baby "nurse" (she
wasn't designated as such, just said she would be there for baby advice,
etc), also an African-American woman.  Unfortunately, breastfeeding was
discussed in light of giving bottles.  Brandy posed a question about when to
give bottles stating she was afraid the baby would prefer her (something to
this effect) and wouldn't bottles interfere with her baby wanting her.  To
which this baby person replied that one should give bottles right away or the
baby might never take them.

It seemed Brandy was wiser than this "helper" but I felt how unfortunate this
message was to send out to teenage girls; even mine were moaning in dismay.
