I think this press release is fascinating. The fact
that the headline said "unrestricted" grant tells me
that the issue of the ethics of funding is beginning
to be taken seriously in the research community and
therefore by corporate funders as well. Of course,
there are still serious ethical problems with
Mead Johnson funding this research, but at least
they are beginning to realize that they need to put
some kind of spin on it. There is a problem to be
addressed here.
Does anyone know who else funds Dr. Biers' research,
and other research of this nutrition center and
university? Has there been some controversy already
at this insitution, or was this a general statement?
