which brings up another question. At what point does one KNOW they have a
yeast infection? And from what point should the milk be discarded? (And
I'll reiterate my previous question -- why?) I surmise that by the time
there is clinical evidence of a yeast infestation in either mom or babe, it's
been going on for awhile. How long? If mom is collecting milk on a daily
basis (working, perhaps) -- how long back should she discard it? One day?
From the day the infection is discovered? Two days prior? A week? And how
long should she keep discarding? Until all S&S in mom and baby gone? For
how long? Gone for 1 day? 3 days? 2 weeks?

My question still stands -- I don't think we have evidence to demonstrate
that a baby taking expressed milk from a cup or bottle that has yeast in it
is going to reinfect either mother or baby. I'll defer to Amy -- in a
compromised situation, maybe. And I'm even hedging on that. Before we have
mothers doing all sorts of things to their milk, or dumping it or whatever,
lets get some evidence. At the very least, pool what we've collected over
the years.

As of this writing, I've had four moms who have collected milk during a yeast
infection, froze it, fed it to their babies at a later date, and reported
back to me of "no problem." Now, that's an "n" of 4 different women, one
infection each. How about the rest of you? I've not had any others that
came back to me w/ a recurrent infection, but neither did they call me back
to report specifically, so I'm not counting them.
