Yesterday, during a home visit, a gentle father calmly stated, "I don't
understand how a hospital can say they support breastfeeding and tell you
it's the best for your baby and then give you free samples of formula and
pacifiers in their bed." I wanted to jump up and kiss him but instead I
calmly (it was hard to restrain myself) told him and the mom that when they
had the wherewithall they could write those exact words in a letter to the
hosp administrator, etc. I also told him he sounded like a poster to Lactnet.
It made my day-would like to clone him but also feel badly that he was in a
position to have to make such a statement in the first place.
