We had a mom call whose baby is 3 weeks old. Mom has been pumping and
feeding EBM through feeding tube. Infant has been in a NICU since birth.
(on a vent/ pneumothorax) Infant is back on the vent and will be getting a
tracheotomy because the vocal chords close over the airway intermittently.
They plan to try CPAP first but the doctors are not very hopeful, they feel
the trach is inevitable. Mom wants to breastfeed this baby. Does anyone
have information about breastfeeding infants with a tracheostomy? What
position is the best for the mother to use? The infant will be allowed to
take p.o. once the airway is established.

Any and all advice is appreciated! Thanks everyone
