I can see the idea behind this when the ambiant air is cooler than the
baby's core body temperature. However, in the heat of summer, when we
had 40+ degree weather (it was 39 indoors and about 43 outdoors), when
the normal body temperature is 37...I would keep baby as bare as
possible...downright nude...perhaps even with cool-ish baths if
necessary. In my humble opinion...a baby will lose heat faster than an
adult, but will also heat up faster. In that sense, I usually dress
myself first in winter, and the children last (from oldest to tiniest
child) so that they don't spend excessive amounts of time in a warm coat
indoors.
