I agree with you, Lynn, we've got to help moms where they are. I would use
a two-pronged approach to this: first, show the mothers how they can nurse
in public without anyone knowing, i.e. in a sling, and secondly, I would
direct them to the Bible, if they are Jewish or Christian, and the very
positive and open references to nursing. I think that seeing this as the
beautiful way God designed us to feed our babies can counteract some of that
public breastfeeding as sin nonsense. (Not that sin is nonsense, but
breastfeeding as sin certainly is!).
