Even as a nurse, we are not allowed to do certain things. Lancing anything is
NOT within an IBCLC or RN scope of practice. I remember being quite surprised
that RNs could not "clip" toenails. When my mother in law went through a
major illness recently, I made it my mission to keep her nails tidy. Seen
some gross stuff in med surg and nursing homes.
