Unfortunately that wasn't the case here.  Our newest area hospital birthing
unit was built without a nursery - designed by OB's, believe it or not.
These OBs are non-enlightened about anything else, but they do believe that
mothers and babies should be together.  There was SO much complaining by the
mothers about there not being a nursery, and many people in the community
chose the "rival" hospital because it had a level 2 nursery.  Lo and behold,
the new improved version of the hospital contains a Level II nursery large
enough for all of the babies coming out of the 16 birthing rooms.  Sad, sad,
sad if you ask me.
