Mary - thanks for this. I think hand expression is probably not
suitable for round the clock, frequent, long-term expressing for
babies who are compromised and where milk supply has not yet been
established.
But the majority of mothers with healthy term babies could gain real
benefits from learning to hand express, for when they needed to.
