I'm hoping someone has experience with treating arthritis--or has Dr.
Hale's book on clinical treatments.  I don't post very often--I work at
a telephone triage service in Eugene, Oregon, USA.  One of the calls
last night was a Mom of a 4mo old who had seen her Family Practice doc
just yesterday and was diagnosed with arthritis.  She has had NO
treatment up to this point.  Now, here's the classical horror story:
She must stop breastfeeding immediately, start methotrexate and Vioxx.
She doesn't want to follow these instructions, but to get into a
specialist would be the end of April.  We have the 2000 edition of Dr.
Hale's Meds and Mom's Milk, so we were able to tell her about Vioxx, and
last night I looked on the web site and found the request for research
participants.  What I'm looking for is suggestions for early/beginning
arthritis treatment.  Breastfeeding aside--we were shocked this doc went
straight for the methotrexate, and so was Mom.  Thanks ahead for any
suggestions.
