In Texas, Healthy Mothers/Healthy Babies will present our annual Hero of Breastfeeding Award on the steps of the state capitol (with appropriate media hoopla) to State Rep. Glen Maxey, Austin, for his work in the legislature on behalf of funding issues related to our milk bank.  Afterwards, a committee of individuals will take a white paper of legislative initiatives to selected committee chairs in order to try to get new legislation related to breastfeeding issues on the calendar for the up-coming legislative session.
