LuAnn,
Many of my colleagues here in New York City and I noticed that
consultations were way down for months after September 11.  Moms were
traumatized, and were not reaching out at all.  The economic hit did not
help either.  We don't know if this means they were not breastfeeding,
or just not calling lactation consultants.  Now things seem to be
returning to normal, and there is a boomlet of babies conceived
purposely after 9.11 as a reaffirmation of life.
