Hello-

I have a question that I cannot seem to find a conclusively answer to:
a friend is adoptive a baby (who will be 6 mos. old when they get
custody) and is planning to breastfeed. Besides all the adoptive
breastfeeding issues, they have the added complication that the baby
is being treated for syphillis now. Once treatment is complete, will it
be safe for her to breastfeed the baby? She has already nursed 1
biological child to natural weaning, btw.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
JoAnna Parente
LLL of Johnston County, NC
