Hello everybody, I am back now that the Infant Feeding in Emergencies modules are finished.
The California legislature (Health Committee) is considering a bill, AB2447, which will prohibit samples of formula being provided in hospitals or sent to families without a mother's written consent on a form that contains information about the drawback of using formula and the benefits of breastfeeding. It will also prohibit hospitals and health professionals from communicating information about mothers to manufacturers. You can request the full text and some information about giving support from Betty Sterken at [log in to unmask] or website www.infact.canada.ca
Suppose we were all to propose such a bill in every state legislature? That would makes its passage more likely everywhere.
Helen
