I probably posted too quickly. (You can usually tell by counting the
typos, and there were quite a few in the last couple.)

It's definitely worth asking about these things. I put most of those
expectations into the "lack of support" category... Often if women know
just one mother who breastfed happily, was transformed by the experience
of mothering, etc. then she sees things differently.
Is the mother happy? That can make a huge difference. (Note how my posts
have been on lack of sleep and lack of appetite as being normal,
sometimes. Of course sometimes they're not!)
