  I hope the mother has received many strokes from family, friends and
hcps for
pumping for so long and hanging in there. This has been very difficult I'm
sure.
  I will leave discussion of the preemie nursing to others with more
exerience
and expertise. From personal experience, I would make sure the family
knows
how to keep an eye on the hernia. It may be able to wait a year, but
it may grow unexpectedly and they may not be able to wait a year.
A pediatric surgeon can go over what to look for much better than I can in
an e-mail.
