I think that a few hundred years is too short a time for evolution to
start selecting for or against particular traits. As I understand it,
evolution is sort of like a slow swirling about of millions of little
accidental changes, and it takes millennia to shift appreciably in a
particular direction. More like the Florida Everglades (the way they're
supposed to work) than the Mississippi.
Incidentally, I've decided to stop mentioning evolution in breastfeeding
classes, because quite a few people in my area don't believe in it.
They're used to it being the dominant paradigm, but I don't think they
always like having it jump out at them unexpectedly in breastfeeding class.
