Pam, (and others)
I recently had a similar situation. Mom of second baby with prior surgery,
experiencing low supply. She was not tolerating much meats or solid foods.
We came up with the following plan: She would eat as much high calorie type
foods she could tolerate and then supplement with drinks such as slimfast,
carnation instant breakfast, ensure etc. Whatever she could drink that she
liked. It managed to bump up her calorie load without significantly filling
her stomach...plus it was added fluids. That worked the best. And actually,
we noticed the extra calories were only really a factor in the first 2 months
or so.
