LAM / surrogacy
Hello wise ones,
I am in need of your help with the following:
Mother, 40 years old, breastfeeds her 17 m.o. daughter. She wants to be a
surrogate for her friend in America (Ca). The embryo's are already
available. Surrogate wants to know if there's a way to keep breastfeeding
her daughter through all of this and what the chances of a pregnancy are
when she does. If there's no other way she's willing to wean her daughter (
although with pain in her heart) but also wants to know what her chances
of relactating are for her afterwards. The surrogate mum has not had her
period yet and has no evidence of being fertile whatsoever (she doesn't use
any contraception).
Who has some experience with this or can tell us more about it?
Everything is welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Renate Rietveld, IBCLC
