I have a patient in ICU receiving calcium gluconate by IV and am wondering if calcium gluconate has been determined safe in breastfeeding. It seems logically that it should be safe, but I can find no references for it in Dr. Hale's new book, nor on the archives of LACTNET. So if anyone from the list has a quick answer on this, I would be most appreciative. Thanks so much,
Brenda Phipps, BS, IBCLC
