Hi All,
Jay Simpson, IBCLC here. It has been many many months since I have been on
Lactnet and am so very glad to be back on. I just wanted to reintroduce my
self and say "Hey!" to all my long lost colleagues. :)
I am an IBCLC in the Sacramento, California area and do only home visits. I
greatly enjoy my work!! I had the intense honor just last week of being
able to be LC for my sister who just gave birth to her 2nd daughter. The
information she had recieved just after birth had confused her terribly -
baby was not latching well, and she was scared. Big sister to the rescue!
Corrected the situation with the aid of a nipple shield (inverted nipples -
baby completely unable to L-O and burse) - baby gained 12.5 ounces in 5
days! Ped is thrilled - asked who helped her - she said her IBCLC Sister -
he asked if I wanted a job! Not that I would move from my home - but it was
a nice feeling to be able to help her and get that appreciation from her Dr.
Hmmm...should I consider home visits that are 4 hours from my home?? ;)
Anyway, those of us with family who refuse to seek our help will understand
just how truly honored I was to be able to help my sister... Looking
forward each day to my Lactnet...
Warmly,
Jay Simpson, IBCLC
