Mother of 2 year old twins is complaining of heavy bleeding. Has suffered from this since puberty, and was on Triphasil much of her life to control it. However when she went back on Triphasil when the twins were about 14 months old, she says her milk supply was reduced. Doctor says (surprise!) that the twins are old enough to be weaned - so not much help with alternatives.
My question: is there any point in going back on the Triphasil, combined with a galactogogue? Any interactions likely?
The mother desperately needs help to control the bleeding, but also says she cannot cope without breastfeeding.
I'm surprised that breastfeeding twins hasn't helped reduced menstruation more.
