Diane, I think your comments about many of the photos we get of babies
breastfeeding are very accurate. I've sat in on a number of photo sessions
for the magazines I write for, and I get VERY frustrated with the
photographers, who never want to take the photos of the good latches. They
always say "but you can't see anything - you can't tell the baby has the
nipple in his mouth." They keep asking the mother to turn the baby slightly
away from her, so that the baby's mouth shows more, because they think it
makes a better photo. It's hard to get across to them why this is a
problem - because it makes new mothers think this is how babies should be
latched on.
