Hi Anne,

I don't know the origin of the myth, but the study you refer to might be the
one done by Mike Woolridge ages ago - if anyone knows anything about this, it
is Kathleen Auerbach. Kathy? You out there? Yes? No? However, I find it
fascinating that only breastfed babies are relegated to time in any way shape
or form. After all, when was the last time you decided you needed to eat for
at least 20 minutes to get all the nutrients, or that you only needed to eat
for 5 minutes because you could get most all you needed in that time? We let
bo feeding babies eat until they finish - we let toddlers eat until they are
done. Why do we time breastfeeding babies? Let's learn (and teach our moms)
to watch the baby, not the clock. (Boy, is that an overused phrase or
what??)

Have a great weekend, all!

Jan B.
