I just wrote a long response and an AOL crash erased it. This will be
shorter.
Most of the books out there offer parents separation of one kind or another
and Harvey Karp instead gives very practical ways of staying in close
physical contact with the baby while soothing. Yes, he and Paul Fleiss and I
were in practice together for a couple years. (Another national expert
taught by Paul. The man is due a mountain of respect and admiration by us
all.)
"Good Nights: The Happy Parents' Guide to the Family Bed" and "Listening to
Your Baby" are MY two new books and they hit the bookstores next week.
Preorder many dozen on Amazon and give them to all your friends, relatives
and even to people you don't know well. I like them better than I like
Harvey's book but he has caught the media's attention with an approach far
gentler than most of the other popular books.
In the meantime, I will be calling Harvey to get his publicist's phone number
. . .
