This topic has been discussed at length on more than one occasion, and it
seems unlikely that the current thread will illuminate the issue further.
Please refer to the archives for the exhaustive discussions about breasts as
organs of milk production, playthings, intimate body parts, fountains of
life, or whatever, and unless your take on the subject is totally new,
please resist the temptation to post on it. We request this because it
seems that how breasts are viewed engages us strongly, and there is a real
risk of getting far off topic unless we keep focused on breastfeeding.
We recognize, of course, the cultural element in perceptions of the body.
We also recognize the need for culturally sensitive care, in breastfeeding
support as in all dealings with other people.
