In response to Pat Gima's post; Pat, when I had my second child in hospital,
18 1/2 yr ago, I received nothing commercial-no bags, freebies. With first,
26 yr ago I was given water bottles because I was breastfeeding (dutifully
gave them occasionally after feeds the first few days-the usual problems
encountered occured-ouch, still remember the pain of poor latch). My last
escaped all advertising due to homebirth 13 yr ago. I feel like Kathleen, I
was happy with my healthy girls-they were my gifts; never thought of the
hospitals owing me anything except painless, early discharge.
