I just read an excerpt of an article that made the following statement:

"An innovative method using genetic analysis of cells collected from the
breast milk ducts, where 95 percent of breast cancer originates, may allow
the earlier detection of breast cancer...."

The article appeared in Lancet in May - it is about using ductal lavage to
detect breast cancer earlier.

My question, though - 95% of breast cancer originates in the breast milk
ducts?  Do we know that to be fact?  Is that perhaps why, then, that
breastfeeding reduces the risk of breast cancer in women?
