Hi Patricia - I have not been keeping up on this so I don't know if you got
the Hale's info Medications and Mothers Milk 2000:
Oxycontin (Oxycodone)
Lact Risk L3
Pediatric concerns: none reported via milk
"Small amounts are secreted in bmk...At the highest concentration (10 mg at
4-7 hrs) an infant ingesting 1 L per day (breastmilk) would receive less
than 2% of the maternal dose. No reports of untoward effects in infants
have been found although sedation is a possibility in some infants."
Peaks in mothers milk 1-2 hrs (so avoid bfg around that time)
Hope this helps,
Michelle Bentley CLE, LLL
