Is there some sort of rule (or should there be) on Lactnet about answering
emails privately? I get very frustrated when people pose interesting
questions concerning lactation--information that could be useful to me and
presumably others as well--and then say, "I'm nomail right now, so please
email me privately with your response." I come to Lactnet for collective
wisdom and different ideas and I'm disappointed by these private conversations
that initiate here and go elsewhere. Someone just asked about corporate
lactation programs which is a big issue for me right now, and then she asked
for private email responses. This is a lactation issue of interest to many
people, and I want to know what's out there, too. Non-lactation discussions
should be taken off the list and continued privately; but if it is a lactation
issue and you don't want to be bothered monitoring Lactnet for responses, I
don't think you should be utilizing this forum for asking the questions.
