Skim milk can be easily made to feed a baby with a chylothorax. The milk
can be centrifuged with a lab quality centrifuge and fortified with evening
primrose oil. Has worked to heal 2 children with chylothoraxes after
surgery in Yale New Haven, CT hospital. Actual spinning was done in the
child's home and brought to the hospital by the parents.

Breastmilk has a specific gravity and depending on the specific centrifuge,
the milk gets spun at a specified RPMs for a specific time. (This
information was supplied by the instructions from the centrifuge, plus the
specific gravity of breastmilk being 1.01) Once that process is completed,
the fat/skim milk components are separated into containers and divided to
be used.

Using this method, you can obtain a .02% (2gms/100cc)fat, as compared to
Portagen which is 14% longchain fatty acids, and whole milk which in this
case was ~40%.

The process was also done in reverse after the chylothorax was healed. One
of the children had trouble gaining weight after the chylothorax was
healed. He was then given the cream portion of the milk (60cc of
this "butterfat" is equivilant to 250 calories.) in addition to the whole
milk, and gained weight very well.

These results were verified by an independent labratory, Northeast Labs of
Ct.
