Hi Ellen,
Thanks for your congratulations. My daughter is a toddler rather than a
baby. Currently she is drinking the milk from a bottle or cup at night and
leftovers get made into iceblocks for the next day. Occasionally she will
ask to have a bit of a suck herself and of course I'm not at all adverse. I
suspect that she may decide to breastfeed at a later time but she had to
relearn how to suck first- didn't have a clue what to do with a bottle, let
alone a breast. However, when she sees a baby breastfeeding now she will
point to herself and pat my breast. She knows where her milk comes from :-)
I started relactating after we got home and after we had had her for 3 or 3
weeks. I wasn't in any big hurry and there were lots of adjustments to make
on all sides. I actually bought the domperidone in China- cheaper than
Australia even though it is a drug subsidised by our government. I actually
had a call from another Mum over the weekend who is wanting to breastfeed
the toddler she is about to adopt from overseas. I was happy to be able to
help her get on the track.

> and first and foremost - Congrats! thanks for sharing this with us. How
old is the baby?
> when did she arrive? In other words, did you start pumping before she
arrived? This sounds wonderful.
