I'm sorry to see the discussion dividing some of us into "who's better"
camps. We do each have our own areas of greater ability/expertise as
well as areas we are not as strong in. An ER nurse can't "drop in" to
OB and function well. A NICU nurse would not cross over instantly to a
surgical unit, etc.
There seemed to be a question whether 5 yrs as LLL leader qualified
even though that person may have done little counseling during that
time. In that case, I doubt if she'd pass any more than someone who has
simply worked in OB or taken one short lactation workshop. We're
talking about requisites to sit the exam, not requisites for
certification itself.
