Alicia Dermer's "Breastfeeding : The Physician's Role: A Resource Guide" has
a telephone triage section for the ped or ob office for the 6 most common
problems in the early days (not enough milk, fussy at breast/breast refusal,
sore nipples, engorgement, mastitis, jaundice." The parts I like are the
questions for mom to answer and the part that says "See Immediately" which
clues the unknowing ped or ob staff into a serious, emergent problem that
requires CARE!!! LaCTo (SNJ chapter of ILCA) still has copies available for
$5 so contact me off list. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ (disclaimer: I don't have
a personal financial interest in these).
