I have a client G2P1 who breastfed her first son for 3 months successfully.
Then, a steady decline in milk production on one side only. No difference
in preference by babe also no decrease in stimulation. Other side continued
to produce adequate supply.
There is a family history of the same decrease or inablility to produce
milk with MALE infants (Mother nursed 2 girls with no difficulty, but 2
male children was unable to produce adequate supply). Similar difficulty by
Grandmother).
Now my client has second male infant, aged 2 days, and would like to know
if there is a way to prevent the drying up of 1 breast!
Suggestions welcome!
TIA,
Bobbie
