It is interesting to read how even in our very pro-breastfeeding community
the question of choosing breast or bottle gives such big discussions and
motions.
I think what Pam meant to refer to were mothers who do have a choice
(meaning: mothers who do not have any medical or pathologic pshychological
reason why the can not lactate) and then *deliberately* choose to not
breastfeed their child.
And looking around in my little part of the world the 2 main reasons are
selfishness and ignorance. The main stream moms who *choose* to formula feed
their baby's do not know the difference, ignore or bagatalise the difference
(=do not want to know) or just plain do not want any person to interfere with
what they want to do, not even if that person is their own little helpless
baby.They spent thoudands of Euro's on furniture, strollers, all kinds of
needless gadgets they can buy, but invest as little as possible of their own
person, of their own being.
