Addressing the issue of pp contraception--
IUD's can be put in--the expulsion rate is higher in the immediate postpartum period but it can be done.
LAM would be appropriate as someone else has already mentioned.
Depo-provera is another choice that is often frequently done for teen moms. It's progesterone only and is working about 24 hours after it's given.
Progesterone only pills (the mini pill) would also be ok for a breastfeeding mother.
