I just got back from being no mail for vacation and was reading the posts
regarding the IBCLC certification process. I also agree there is a need for
a way to determine more thoroughly the range of knowledge of the person.
There is a big gap in what IBCLCs know.
My question to you is this - how do you feel about hospitals that allow RNs
to call themselves Lactation Consultants when they are not? No
breastfeeding classes - just reading and personal experience. I think it is
wrong for this to occur but there is no regulation on it. What are your
thoughts?
